About the Client
The client is one of Asia’s largest online travel platforms and part of one of the world’s largest travel groups. It connects millions of travellers with hotels, homes, flights and activities worldwide, and runs a multi-entity finance operation on Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP. Its finance systems team in South-East Asia runs that Oracle Fusion estate for the group’s entities, including its UK operations.
InspireXT is the client’s SLA-backed Oracle Fusion application management services (AMS) partner across General Ledger, Receivables, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Intercompany and Payables. Alongside that service, InspireXT led a finance transformation that moved the client’s month-end accrual journal import off RPA bots and onto a governed Oracle platform.
Business Challenges
- Finance needed dependable, SLA-backed support for an Oracle Fusion ERP estate spanning General Ledger, Receivables, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Intercompany and Payables across multiple entities.
- Operational issues, enhancements, user requests, business-as-usual (BAU) administration and Oracle Service Requests (SRs) needed one accountable owner and timely coordination.
- The month-end accrual journals depended on Blue Prism bots to derive the entries and build FBDI (File-Based Data Import) files, with a custom connector loading them into Oracle Fusion.
- Once the files were handed off, finance had little visibility of a process the close depends on. Errors often surfaced only when Oracle Fusion rejected an import.
- Business rules hidden inside the bots, reruns that needed support and recovery from partial failures put the financial close at risk every month.
What We Did
InspireXT took ownership of the client’s Oracle Fusion ERP support under a defined SLA, then used that view of the estate to transform the finance process carrying the most risk: the month-end accrual journal import.
SLA-backed Oracle Fusion AMS
- Provide functional Oracle Fusion AMS across General Ledger, Receivables, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Intercompany and Payables, with defined service accountability and continuous operational coverage.
- Act as subject matter expert and primary point of contact for operational issues, enhancements and user requests.
- Run BAU application administration, configuration and maintenance; keep process and functional documentation current; carry out root-cause analysis; manage Oracle Service Requests; and coordinate timely resolution with the relevant teams.
Finance transformation: the month-end journal import on Oracle Integration Cloud, Visual Builder and ATP
- Replaced the bots, file drops and custom connector with a governed, finance-facing platform built on Oracle Visual Builder, Oracle Integration Cloud and Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP).
- Introduced a parking-lot approach: journal data is staged, derived and validated before submission to Oracle Fusion, using current reference data synchronised from Fusion into ATP.
- Gave finance users self-service upload, real-time monitoring and visibility of every run by processing stage and by ledger.
- Moved derivation and validation rules out of the bots and into version-controlled PL/SQL and configuration tables, keeping the legacy logic that was still required.
- Built controlled reprocessing of failed ledgers, governed reversal of posted journals, run controls and a complete audit trail.
Value Delivered
- Operational assurance: SLA-backed support gives the client one accountable owner, structured functional coverage and coordinated resolution across its Oracle Fusion ERP.
- Business continuity: SME-led BAU support, root-cause management and Oracle SR coordination reduce disruption and keep critical finance processes running.
- A month-end close finance can trust: pre-import validation catches issues before Oracle Fusion sees them, and ledger-level retries allow safe recovery without disturbing successful postings.
- Finance in control: finance users run the process themselves and can see every run, stage, ledger and import result, backed by controlled reversals and a complete audit history.
- Less to maintain: one governed platform replaces separate RPA and connector components, and the rules live in version-controlled code rather than inside bots.
- Built for the whole group: the configuration-driven design supports 15 accrual entities, with three approved for the initial go-live stage.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Oracle Fusion AMS from InspireXT cover?
SLA-backed functional support across Oracle Fusion General Ledger, Receivables, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Intercompany and Payables. InspireXT is the subject matter expert and first point of contact for issues, enhancements and user requests, and runs administration, documentation, root-cause analysis and Oracle Service Requests. See how InspireXT’s Oracle AMS fixes the cause of repeat errors across Oracle ERP Cloud.
How can Oracle Fusion AMS lead to finance transformation?
An AMS partner sees which finance processes fail, need reruns or depend on manual fixes every month. InspireXT used that view to pick the month-end accrual journal import as this client’s highest-risk process and rebuilt it, so finance now runs it without support. The same close-first thinking runs through InspireXT’s Oracle EPM Cloud work, such as this FCCS optimisation.
Why replace RPA bots for Oracle Fusion journal imports?
Bots that derive entries and build FBDI files hide business rules inside the automation and give finance little visibility once a file is handed off. Errors appear only when Oracle Fusion rejects the import, and recovery depends on support. A governed platform validates journals before submission and lets finance see and rerun each ledger. InspireXT took the same approach when stabilising Oracle Fusion data flows for a global pharma manufacturer.
Which Oracle technologies run the journal-import platform?
Oracle Visual Builder provides the upload and monitoring screens, Oracle Integration Cloud orchestrates the load into Oracle Fusion, and Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) holds the staged data, the reference data and the rules, which sit in version-controlled PL/SQL. More on how InspireXT builds with these tools is on the Oracle Technology page.
Does InspireXT support Oracle Fusion finance teams in Singapore and the UK?
InspireXT’s South-East Asia team works from Singapore and is led by Kirti Pathania. It assesses, stabilises and supports Oracle FCCS and wider Oracle EPM environments for companies across South-East Asia, including after go-live.
